About F. O. Beijers Mekaniska Verkstad
In the forge at Soldattorpet, located in Stensjöholm, the brothers Nils August Beijer and his brother Frans Oskar Beijer manufacture their first engine. This happens sometime between the years 1895 - 1996. The engine is a spark plug engine of the four-stroke type. Before the manufacture of engines, the two brothers had manufactured a mobile threshing machine, which was moved around the villages. Shortly after this, the two brothers moved their production to Kristdala, next to Listelid in Krogarebacken. Around 1908, Nils August Beijer leaves the manufacturing in Kristdala, and moves his production to Vimmerby, where the opportunities to expand the business are greater, with access to, among other things, the nearby railway.
